Training
Implementation of a training programme designed in
accordance with the results of the training needs
analysis for the stakeholders involved in the
training and campaign implementation, is among the
expected results of the project. Such trainigns are
to ensure they have adequate capacity to implement
target-based and efficient training activities and
awareness raising campaigns on road safety.

The training needs analysis highlights the following areas
to improve:
-
Regulations on driving schools
and capacity for delivery of driver trainings
effectively
-
Introducing systematic written
exam procedure for drvier licensing
-
Effective trafic police
controls and surveillance
-
Improving cooperation
performance between public organisations, civil society
organisations and private sector
-
Enabling media to work on this
topic more effectively.
In addition to these, it has been identified among the
strategic issues that improvement of the quality of the
training content delivered in schools for the students and
in driving schools for the driver candidates is key for long-term
success. Results of analysis conducted, indicate that level
of knowledge on traffic rules is poor in almost all segments
of the society. If people know the rules and their
justification, they will be caring more about safe driving.
In respect of this, first the curriculum in driving schools
and the
traffic rules book need significant revision, second the traffic training
curriculum needs to be developed and introduced for primary
schools.
Training topics are selected with a special focus on
ensuring on sustainability. This issue is specifically
mentioned in the training needs ananlysis report.
The training programmes planned are:
1- Trainings for the driving school teachers and licensing
inspectors
2- Trainings for traffic control units
3- Trainings for professional drivers with the participation
of unions
4- Trainings for young students
5- Training for young drivers (18-24 age group)
6- Trainings for the units in charge of regulation and
enforcement on road safety
7- Trainings for media representatives
