Rate of traffic accidents of our community in 2009 was double of the European Union average. Against our 260.000 population, in 2009, 44 people died and 1286 people were injured in 3971 road accidents. Most of these accidents happened in Nicosia and Kyrenia. Road Safety Education and Campaigning project funded by EU aims to contribute to the solution of the road safety problem with sustainable measures. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Traffic Safety Commission and its Sub-Committee on Education, Research and Awareness. With the campaign initiated, we invite all the organisations and individuals to be a part of the change and the solution. Local capacity will be built to sustain the campaign and training activities for change of behaviour. Click for the rest
